Summer Baldwin is the Executive Director of the 

ROCK U 2 Dance & Acting Department.  She moved to the Gulf Coast from New York where she was an actress, dancer, choreographer and aerialist.  She received her BFA in Theater/Dance from Valdosta State University in Georgia.  While in New York, Summer performed as an actress in several one act plays, as the lead actress on a web-series, and in commercials. She also performed with an aerial dance company.  Since moving to the Gulf Coast, Summer has appeared in several award-winning films that were shot in New Orleans and was voted one of the Top Three Performing Artists of the Year for the New Orleans RAW Artist Showcase.  Summer is the  co-founder of the COAST DANCEfest with Lauren Guynes.

Lauren Guynes

 Lauren Guynes grew up in Terry, MS and is now a resident of Ocean Springs, MS.  In 2013 Lauren received her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Southern Mississippi.  Immediately following graduation, she performed as a guest artist with Hattiesburg’s Hub Dance Collective in their 2013 concert debut, The Moment in Which Something is Likely to Begin.  Since then, Lauren has performed as part of the 2014 RADFest in Kalamazoo, MI, the 2014 Brockport Alumni Concert at Dixon Place, the 2014 DUMBO Dance Festival in New York City, the 2015 Chicago Harvest Dance Festival, and she continues to perform as a guest artist with Hub Dance Collective.  Lauren is also a company member with the Marigny Opera Ballet in New Orleans, LA . She will also be traveling to the 2019 International Women in Dance Leadership Conference in Philadelphia to dance in Gretchen Erickson’s work Silk and Smoke.
